What they do
Banarsi Dass Gupta Foundation is an NGO registered in Faridabad, founded in 2007 by Ajay Gupta and his wife Darshana Gupta after the death of Ajay's father, former Haryana chief minister Banarsi Das Gupta. It organises mass weddings for underprivileged couples who could not otherwise afford the cost of a traditional wedding and dowry. Darshana Gupta, the foundation's secretary, received the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2019 for having arranged more than 3,500 such weddings.
