Bihar Dalit Vikas Samiti, also known as the Bihar Dalit Development Organization, is a nonprofit founded in 1982 by José Kananaikil as Harijan Uthan Samiti, to organise Dalit communities in Bihar around education, economic opportunity and the elimination of caste discrimination. It reports a network reaching around 500 villages and 100,000 families through 14 affiliated centres. Current programmes include free education and evening learning centres, women's livelihood and vocational training, and health camps for Dalit communities. It was originally based in Barh in Patna district and now operates from Patna city.
