What they do
Blind People's Association (BPA) is a disability rehabilitation organisation headquartered in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, founded in 1954 when a group of people with visual impairment started a recreation club that grew into a comprehensive service organisation under the late Jagdishbhai Patel. It now works across all categories of disability, running eye hospitals and eye-donation programmes, skill training and technology-access centres, inclusive sports programmes and distance education. It describes itself as a one-window service organisation for persons with disabilities, operating from a large campus in Ahmedabad.
