What they do
Nature's Beckon is an environmental group based in Dhubri, Assam, working to conserve wildlife, plants and their habitats in Northeast India. It led a twelve-year campaign, the Chakrashila Movement, that resulted in the declaration of Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary and the protection of the golden langur. It also conducted surveys that recorded rainforest tracts in eastern Assam, contributing to the creation of Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary in 2004, and runs environmental education programmes for students and local communities.
