    What they do

Sankurathri Foundation is a charitable trust founded in 1989 near Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, by Dr. Chandrasekhar Sankurathri in memory of his wife and children, who died in the 1985 Air India Flight 182 bombing. It runs Sarada Vidyalayam, a free school for rural children, and the SriKiran Institute of Ophthalmology, which provides free eye care and cataract surgery. It also runs Spandana, a disaster relief programme, and reports restoring vision to more than 270,000 people since 1993.
