What they do
Sulabh International is a social service organisation founded to end manual scavenging by promoting low-cost, two-pit pour-flush compost toilets known as Sulabh Shauchalaya. It has built and popularised sanitation systems in over a million households across India and worked on the rehabilitation of manual scavengers. The organisation also runs public toilet complexes with biogas and wastewater treatment, and operates a museum on the history of toilets in New Delhi. It holds special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council.
