    What they do

Vanangana is a rural women's rights collective in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, registered as a society, working from Chitrakoot since 1993 and Banda since 2003. It organises Dalit, tribal and minority women against gender-based violence through survivor support, community mobilisation and engagement with the criminal justice system. The organisation runs a women's collective called the Dalit Mahila Samiti and a women-run catering initiative, Apni Rasoi, across roughly 174 villages in the two districts.
