BAIF Development Research Foundation is a rural development organisation founded in 1967 by Gandhian activist Manibhai Desai at Uruli Kanchan near Pune. It works on cattle breed improvement, sustainable agriculture, watershed development and livelihood support for rural, tribal and smallholder households. The Government of India recognises it as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation. It is registered as a public charitable trust in Pune and runs field programmes through regional and state offices in more than a dozen states.
