    What they do

CRY (Child Rights and You) is a Mumbai-headquartered NGO founded in 1979 by former Air India purser Rippan Kapur to work on children's rights. It does not run its own schools or clinics but funds and mentors grassroots partner organisations across India that work on children's right to education, health and nutrition, protection from abuse and trafficking, and participation. CRY operates regional offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, and describes its partner network as reaching children in around 19 Indian states. It is registered as a charitable trust and holds tax-exemption status under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
