    What they do

Calcutta Rescue is a Kolkata-based NGO started informally in 1980 by British physician Dr Jack Preger and registered as a society in 1991. It runs free street clinics for wound care, leprosy and HIV, two schools serving around 650 children, and vocational training programmes for people living in poverty. It works in Kolkata, Howrah and remote villages elsewhere in West Bengal.
