What they do
The Akshaya Patra Foundation runs a school mid-day meal programme for government and government-aided schools, cooking meals in centralised and decentralised kitchens across several states. It says it serves over 2 million children daily and is the largest NGO-run school meal programme partnering with the Government of India's PM POSHAN scheme. It also runs limited relief feeding for homeless and disaster-affected people. It was set up by the Bengaluru chapter of ISKCON.
