    What they do

Association for Parivartan of Nation (APNA) is a Ranchi-based non-profit founded in 2019 by lawyer Hasan Al Banna to help marginalised families claim their entitlements under the Right to Education Act, 2009. It works on legal literacy, community participation in local governance, digital inclusion and litigation on child rights and education, focused on Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and disabled communities in under-resourced districts of Jharkhand. It uses Right to Information applications and social audits to check whether private schools comply with the reserved-seat provision for economically disadvantaged children under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act.
