What they do
Kheti Virasat Mission (KVM) is a trust founded in 2005 and based in Jaitu, Faridkot district, that works to move Punjab's farmers away from chemical-intensive agriculture toward organic and natural farming. It trains farmers, certifies produce under the Participatory Guarantee System, and runs organic farmers markets known as Kudrati Kisan Haats. The organisation also runs programmes for women farmers and carries out research and awareness work on the health and environmental effects of pesticide use. It has reached several hundred farmers and more than a hundred villages in the state.
