    What they do

    MUSE is a community development organisation based in Kaza, in the tribal Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, founded by Ishita Khanna in 2002. It runs programmes in renewable energy, water access, food security, healthcare including a charitable dental clinic, education and livelihoods for Spiti's high-altitude communities. Part of its work is funded through an affiliated responsible-tourism social enterprise, Ecosphere, that it set up. MUSE holds 12A and 80G tax-exemption status, is FCRA compliant, and is registered under the CSR-1 framework for corporate donations.
