    What they do

MYRADA started in 1968 to resettle Tibetan refugees and, from the late 1970s, moved into integrated rural development. It is known for developing and spreading the self-help group model in India, organising poor rural households, mostly women, into community-managed savings and credit groups linked to banks. It also works on watershed management, natural resource management and rural health and education, and provides training and consultancy to other development organisations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
