    What they do

Pain and Palliative Care Society (PPCS) is a palliative care organisation founded in 1993 at the Medical College in Kozhikode by a group of doctors including Dr M R Rajagopal. PPCS pioneered a community volunteer-based model of home care for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses that became the basis for Kerala's wider Neighbourhood Network in Palliative Care. The Institute of Palliative Medicine in Kozhikode describes itself as the training, research and outreach arm of the society. PPCS continues to be associated with palliative care services in Kozhikode.
