    What they do

    SNEHA is a Mumbai based public health NGO founded in 1999 by neonatologist Armida Fernandez to improve maternal and child health, nutrition and safety for women and children living in informal settlements. It runs community programmes on maternal and newborn health, prevention of violence against women, child protection and adolescent health in areas such as Dharavi, Govandi, Malwani and Kandivali. It partners with public hospitals across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and shares its models with programmes in other states. It is registered as a society.
