    What they do

Uttarakhand Seva Nidhi Paryavaran Shiksha Sansthan, also known as the Uttarakhand Seva Nidhi Environmental Education Centre, is a society headquartered in Almora, founded in 1984 by Padma Shri awardee Dr Lalit Pande, building on an earlier 1967 charitable trust of the same parent body. It helped introduce environmental education into the middle-school curriculum in Uttarakhand's hill districts, supports more than 300 pre-primary balwadis, and runs a network of over 450 women's self-help groups. It also works on village water and sanitation, land rehabilitation, and livelihoods based on local produce and resources.
