What they do
Vanarai is a Pune based environmental and rural development trust founded by Gandhian activist and former union minister Mohan Dharia, who registered it as a charitable trust in 1986. It works on afforestation, low cost water harvesting structures such as small bunds, watershed development and sustainable farming in drought affected villages, mainly in Maharashtra. Its bund based water conservation model has also been studied by delegations from African countries.
