What they do
YUVA (Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action) grew out of student volunteer work by Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work students in Mumbai's Jogeshwari informal settlements in the late 1970s and was formally registered as a voluntary development organisation on 30 August 1984. It works on habitat rights and urban governance, informal workers' rights, child rights and youth empowerment. YUVA's programs cover Maharashtra (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Nagpur), Assam (Guwahati, Jorhat) and Jharkhand.
