DHAN Foundation is a development organisation founded in Madurai on 2 October 1997, building on the community banking and tank irrigation work its founder M.P. Vasimalai started in the 1980s. It runs the Kalanjiam community banking programme, the Vayalagam tank fed irrigation and watershed programme, and initiatives in small millets, coastal livelihoods and rural governance. It trains development professionals through the DHAN Academy in Madurai and works in several states beyond Tamil Nadu.
