What they do
Exnora International is a civic environmental organisation founded by M.B. Nirmal, formed in 1988 to 1989, growing out of an earlier community waste collection initiative in Pammal near Chennai. It organises neighbourhood street chapters for source segregation, door to door waste collection and composting, and has run environmental training for teachers and municipalities. At its peak it coordinated the collection and processing of a significant share of Chennai's municipal solid waste through volunteer led operations. Independent Exnora chapters also operate in other Tamil Nadu cities such as Madurai and Tiruchirappalli.
