What they do
Impulse NGO Network (INGON) is a Shillong-based non-profit founded in 1993 by Hasina Kharbhih to address unsafe migration, exploitation and human trafficking. It developed the Impulse Model, a framework built on 6 Ps (partnerships, prevention, protection, policing, press, prosecution) and 6 Rs (reporting, rescue, rehabilitation, repatriation, re-integration, restitution) that is used across the eight states of Northeast India and in border areas of Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh. The network also runs a campaign against child labour in rat-hole coal mining and provides research and training services to law enforcement, media and other NGOs. It was formally registered as a society in Shillong in 1999.
