    What they do

SNEHA is a suicide prevention organisation founded in Chennai in 1986 by psychiatrist Dr Lakshmi Vijayakumar. It runs a 24-hour crisis helpline, a walk-in centre, and email and chat-based emotional support for people experiencing distress or suicidal thoughts. It also runs a support group for people bereaved by suicide and conducts public awareness campaigns around World Suicide Prevention Day. SNEHA is one of India's earliest dedicated suicide-prevention helplines and is affiliated with international suicide-prevention networks.
